  • Buildings with wood-frame permitted or built before January 1st. 1978

  • Ground floor structure containing tuck-under parking 

  • Structures with at least 2 stories and 4 or more dwelling units. 

Soft-story seismic retrofitting is required for apartment owners to reinforce tuck under parking to prevent death or injury.
